Twenty-seven and counting!

This week I celebrated my 27th birthday. Whiehoew!
First of all, I want to thank everyone for all the heartwarming birthday wishes. It felt really great to read all your messages of support and encouragement.

Together with my parents and sister, I enjoyed an exquisite dinner and restful night at Hoeve Roosbeek in Zepperen, Belgium. A little birthday treat ๐Ÿ™‚

The farmstead looked so charming and inviting. Via a little courtyard you could find your way to the reception desk, breakfast room and restaurant. After a warm welcome we were shown to our rooms, located in an outbuilding, with a view of the farmstead and a pen where animals were merrily running around.ย  Inside, the rooms were decorated with cottage-style furniture and earthy tones, giving the space a warm and homey feeling. The picture was complete. I loved it! And the bed looked so inviting I quickly settled back against the pillows with a good book. Hmmm, heavenly.

Getting ready for dinner was another delight. The little bottles of shampoo, conditioner and body lotion on the sink, made showering a true pleasure. The smells of eucalyptus and Argan oil filling the bathroom made me feel refreshed and relaxed at the same time.

The next highlight of our stay was dinner at restaurant Cuisine au Four. After enjoying a nice apple beer from the region in the lounge, we were seated in the restaurant near the wood-burning oven where the chef prepared the dishes. Six delicious courses with matching wines later, we left the restaurant happy and a little tipsy ๐Ÿ™‚

After a good nightโ€™s sleep and a hearty breakfast, we had to leave for home again. Unfortunately we did not find the time to discover the wellness area of the B&B or go cruising around the area on a Vespa. Definitely a reason to go back ๐Ÿ˜‰

I had a truly wonderful birthday; quality time with my family and a little escape from reality ๐Ÿ™‚

  1. Dear Trudy,

It looks like a very nice place to stay, indeed. I note down the name and, yes, I shall invite my wife to go there. But let me sing a HAPPY BIRTHDAY to you! yodeyodeloooooo.

O! I forgot to present myself. How rude this is! typically man attitude ;-). Let me present myself. I am one your father colleagues. One of his 30,000 colleagues, in fact. Still, we have also in common that we do the same job, helping internal clients to lead at best their team. Our ugly function title is Human Resources (who has invented this title?, but a rational and individual) business partner.
It is a pleasure to read through your website. It is highly emotional going through your happenings. We learn a lot, discover, try to link with your thoughts, smile and get angry, having eyebrows going up and down, and yes, providing us with some perspective on our lifes.
Thank you for all that. Do continue. Share. You have a great writing skill and you take good pictures. I think you should enlarge that and yes, why not publish something. My eldest son has written a book. We could Always put you in relationship with ‘maison d’รฉdition’.
Bon, I have to go back to work. Duty calls me.
    Let’s keep in touch.
    All the best to you.
I count on you for the book, hein ๐Ÿ˜‰
    Christophe
